On the 14th, Asahi Shimbun reported that the governments of China and Japan are coordinating the schedule for a bilateral foreign ministers' meeting around the 25th.
According to the report, Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya is scheduled to visit China from the 24th to the 26th to coordinate the details of this meeting.
Foreign Minister Iwaya plans to meet with Wang Yi, Director of the Office of the Central Foreign Affairs Commission of the Chinese Communist Party and Foreign Minister. He is also seeking to hold a meeting with Chinese Premier Li Chang during this period.
This visit by the Japanese Foreign Minister to China will be the first in about 1 year and 7 months since April of last year.
The two governments will also hold a high-level human and cultural exchange dialogue (Humanities Dialogue) to discuss youth exchanges and cooperation in cultural and educational fields around the time of Foreign Minister Iwaya's visit.
