Nonsan Yangchon Dried Persimmon Festival Opens on the 13th... "Make Sweet Memories"

From the 13th to the 15th in Incheon-ri, Yangchon-myeon... An experiential festival attracting family visitors

The Yangchon Gotgam Festival, celebrating the signature specialty of Nonsan in South Chungcheong Province and renowned for its top-quality dried persimmons, will be held from the 13th to the 15th in Incheon-ri, Yangchon-myeon.

Yangchon-myeon in Nonsan boasts clean natural conditions, surrounded by mountains and benefiting from strong northwesterly seasonal winds that provide excellent ventilation and keep the area free from dust. As a result, Yangchon Gotgam is known for its chewy texture and high sweetness.

It is also recognized as Korea's premier production area for dried persimmons, having earned the Q Mark for quality certification and being selected as an outstanding specialty product. In 2006, Yangchon in Nonsan was designated as a special district for dried persimmons.

Since 2003, the Yangchon Gotgam Festival has been held annually as an experiential event, increasing satisfaction among tourists and local residents and receiving enthusiastic responses from family visitors.

Nonsan Mayor Baek Seonghyeon said, "Yangchon Gotgam is one of the top three dried persimmon festivals in Korea. Dried naturally by the wind, Yangchon Gotgam boasts a sweeter and chewier texture."
