Large Candlelight Rally in Front of National Assembly on 14th for 'Yoon Impeachment Vote'...Traffic Congestion Expected Yonhap News

A large-scale rally is expected to cause traffic congestion in the Yeouido and Gwanghwamun areas of Seoul on the afternoon of the 14th, when the second vote on the impeachment motion against President Yoon Seok-yeol is scheduled.

According to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency on the 13th, rallies calling for President Yoon's resignation will be held from 1 p.m. on the 14th at various locations near the National Assembly, including Uisadang-daero, Yeoui Park-ro, and Eunhaeng-ro. The number of participants reported to the police is approximately 200,000.

Several groups have also planned rallies and marches in the downtown area. The conservative group Liberty Unification Party will hold a rally between Donghwa Duty Free Shop and Exit 2 of City Hall Station. The reported number of participants is about 20,000.

The police plan to deploy traffic officers in advance from distant points of the downtown and Yeouido area rallies to redirect vehicles. They will also focus on managing traffic on roads near the National Assembly, such as Yeouidaero and Uisadang-daero, and maintain normal two-way traffic on Gukhoe-daero to minimize inconvenience.

A police official said, "Traffic congestion is expected in the downtown and Yeouido areas," and urged, "Please use public transportation such as the subway as much as possible, and if you use a vehicle, check traffic information in advance."

Meanwhile, detailed traffic information including rally times and locations can be checked through the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's traffic information hotline and the Traffic Information Center website.
