A husband who had an affair secretly sold the house and disappeared, putting his wife at risk of being evicted from their home.

On the 11th, YTN Radio's "Attorney Jo Inseop's Counseling Room" shared the story of a woman, Ms. A, who is preparing for a divorce from her husband of 40 years. Ms. A's husband, Mr. B, reportedly began exhibiting strange behavior after joining a local hiking club on a friend's recommendation.

After getting close to a woman in the hiking club, Mr. B suddenly became cold toward Ms. A and their three children. He even angrily accused the children of coveting his retirement funds and assets. Subsequently, Mr. B took the house deed and seal, ran away from home, and changed his phone number. Ms. A tracked down the woman who had befriended her husband and went to where he was, but he did not open the door, so she could not meet him.

Ms. A lamented, "My husband sold the house without my consent, and now my children and I are at risk of being evicted." She added, "I heard that the woman came as a proxy when the house was sold. I have decided to file for divorce and want to claim alimony from that woman as well. However, I have no evidence to prove that my husband and that woman are in a romantic relationship. This is very unfair, so what should I do?" she asked for advice.

In response, Attorney Lee Chaewon of Shinsegye Law Firm explained, "Since the husband suddenly left home and refuses to meet, there is a high possibility that the divorce petition will be granted. Also, if responsibility for the breakdown of the marriage due to the relationship with the woman is recognized, alimony can be claimed." She continued, "Considering that the marriage lasted over 40 years and they raised three children to adulthood, it is likely that Ms. A can receive about 50% of the property division. Since the other party might try to avoid property division by selling the house or renting it out, a provisional seizure should be filed to prevent disposal of assets in advance."
