Guri City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun) announced on the 13th that it was selected as an excellent institution (Development Award) in the '2024 General Waterworks Operation and Management Performance Evaluation' hosted by the Ministry of Environment.
The Ministry of Environment conducts an annual General Waterworks Operation and Management Performance Evaluation to inspect and assess the status of waterworks projects, aiming to establish a competitive water supply system and enhance the efficiency of operation and management.
The evaluation reviews 28 items for 168 institutions nationwide, including ▲operation and management of water purification facilities and compliance with water quality standards ▲efforts to expand supply in water supply vulnerable areas ▲improvement (replacement) of water pipes in old houses ▲expansion of water bill discounts for vulnerable groups, and selects excellent institutions.
In this evaluation, Guri City received an A grade and was selected for the Development Award, which honors the local government with the highest increase in evaluation scores over the past three years.
Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun of Guri City said, “We are very pleased that the excellence of Guri City's waterworks project has been recognized in the operation and management performance evaluation conducted by the Ministry of Environment,” and added, “We will continue to introduce advanced technologies in water supply and strive to provide citizens with the best tap water through thorough water quality management.”
