Uijeongbu-si Awarded Encouragement Prize as an Excellent Municipality in the 'National Mind Investment Support Project'

Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 13th that it was selected as an outstanding local government in the ‘2024 National Mind Investment Support Project Awards’ hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare on the 12th, receiving the Encouragement Award.

The National Mind Investment Support, implemented since July this year, is a project that provides professional psychological counseling services to citizens experiencing emotional difficulties such as depression and anxiety.

The selection of outstanding local governments reflected the evaluation results of the service application rate, budget execution rate, and number of service providers of the National Mind Investment Support Project. A total of 67 local governments nationwide were selected.

Uijeongbu City has built a cooperative system with related organizations and increased citizen accessibility through active promotion to revitalize the National Mind Investment Support Project. Currently, about 500 citizens have applied and are receiving support.

Mayor Kim Dong-geun said, “This selection as an outstanding local government is a meaningful achievement earned through continuous efforts to care for the mental health of our citizens.” He added, “We will continue to promote various mental health promotion projects so that many citizens experiencing emotional difficulties can receive help.”
