Prepaid Stories of Drinks and Eomuk Continue on SNS
Re-vote on Impeachment Motion Scheduled for 5 PM on the 14th

As warm stories of prepaid orders continue at cafes and restaurants near the rally site calling for the impeachment of President Yoon Suk-yeol, a sharing of first-aid supplies and daily necessities has now appeared in the women's restroom at National Assembly Station.

On the 12th, a post on X (formerly Twitter) stated, "First-aid medicine, bottled water, and chocolate bars have been stocked in the women's restroom at National Assembly Station. Please use them if you need," accompanied by photos. The photos shared on social media show neatly arranged items inside the restroom, including Tylenol, antidiarrheal medicine, a large quantity of bottled water, and snacks. The boxes containing the medicine and snacks even have detailed instructions on how to take the medicine.

However, according to the current Pharmaceutical Affairs Act, selling or trading medicines outside authorized places such as pharmacies is prohibited, so all medicines intended for rally participants were collected and replaced with sanitary pads. Netizens who saw the photos responded with comments such as "My faith in humanity has been restored," "This kind of solidarity is so touching," "There were even hot packs in whole boxes," and "Maybe I'm getting old, but I tear up when I see posts like this."

Additionally, on social media, there are posts from people who could not attend the rally but have prepaid at nearby restaurants or cafes to provide food and drinks to citizens participating in the protest. The day before, Korean Americans announced that they would place four fish cake trucks near the National Assembly in Yeouido, Seoul, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the 14th through fundraising. One netizen even prepaid 5 million won worth of coffee at a cafe near KBS in Yeouido.

Meanwhile, the Democratic Party and other opposition parties submitted a second impeachment motion against President Yoon on the same day. This came after the previous motion was discarded due to a lack of quorum in the plenary session of the National Assembly on the 7th. The motion will be reported in the plenary session on the 13th and voted on at 5 p.m. on the 14th. To pass the impeachment motion, two-thirds of the total members, or 200 votes, are required. The opposition holds 192 seats. For the motion to pass, at least eight members of the ruling party must defect. So far, seven lawmakers from the People Power Party (Ahn Cheol-soo, Kim Ye-ji, Kim Sang-wook, Cho Kyung-tae, Kim Jae-seop, Jin Jong-oh, and Han Ji-ah) have expressed support for impeachment. If one more member supports it, the impeachment motion is expected to pass.
