Gangseo-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon) is visiting schools directly to cultivate the character of youth. The district is conducting the ‘Visiting School Filial Piety, Righteousness, Courtesy, and Wisdom Challenge Character Education’ for 787 sixth-grade elementary and first-grade middle school students in the district until the 17th.
On the 12th, 6th-grade students at Sinwol Elementary School participated in the 'Visiting School Hyo·Ui·Ye·Ji Challenge Character Education,' learning about conflict and relationship improvement while playing a balance game. Provided by Gangseo-gu.
This program was designed to provide students with opportunities to learn empathy and cooperation with others and to properly build their inner character. The education is conducted over four sessions by a professional instructor from Mohae Education Cooperative, a social economy village enterprise in the district.
The main content consists of ‘Filial Piety’ learned through family conflict and relationship improvement processes, ‘Righteousness’ experienced in daily dilemma situations, ‘Courtesy’ expressed through making calligraphy and cards, and ‘Wisdom’ acquired through cooperative games.
Meanwhile, from the 9th to the 13th, the district also conducted a ‘Visiting Artificial Intelligence (AI) X Culture and Arts Convergence Class’ for third-grade middle school students in transition.
This program, led by a professional perfumer who visited schools directly, is an innovative education combining artificial intelligence and culture and arts. It provided students with a new perspective on future society and an opportunity to develop creative problem-solving skills, receiving great acclaim.
District Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon said, “Through this education, I hope students properly nurture their inner selves and develop character and capabilities to live harmoniously within the community. We will continue to support students to grow into outstanding talents through more diverse educational programs in the future.”
