"Yoon's 'Statement' Criticized as a Declaration of War Against the People"
Jeon Jin-sook, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea representing Gwangju Buk-gu Eul, stated on the 12th, "President Yoon Seok-yeol's public address is a declaration of war against the people by a traitor to the nation, and the only answer is immediate arrest and impeachment," urging, "The joint investigation headquarters must take immediate action."
In a statement released that day, Rep. Jeon criticized, "The confessions of the traitor to the nation were nothing but blaming others and absurd excuses," adding, "Yoon Seok-yeol's address, which blames the opposition party for the situation where the entire nation must face the cold asphalt daily, is no different from the 'realization of a just society' proclaimed by the coup forces of the Chun Doo-hwan military regime."
She continued, "This address is essentially a declaration of war against the people, indicating an intention to continue the rebellion by enduring legal battles," emphasizing, "Yoon Seok-yeol, who still exercises presidential authority and has effectively refused police searches, must be arrested and detained to protect the Republic of Korea."
Meanwhile, Rep. Jeon agreed to the 'lifting of martial law' by climbing over the National Assembly wall on the 3rd, when martial law was declared, and in her constituency, about 30 elected officials and party members hold daily picket protests demanding Yoon Seok-yeol's impeachment.
