The design proposal competition was conducted to select the optimal design plan suitable for the role and vision of Jangheung-myeon, focusing on harmony with the surrounding environment due to the relocation of the existing building and future adaptability.

The winning design was evaluated as excellent in land use planning and layout plans reflecting the surrounding conditions, and it received favorable reviews from the judges for its architectural expression of zoning according to the use and function of each facility, as well as circulation plans based on accessibility to stairs and elevators on each floor.

In particular, the design was noted for providing office and idle spaces to enhance residents' convenience and administrative work efficiency, breaking away from the rigid image of government offices.

Yangju City plans to start the basic and detailed design service contract with the winning designer in December, proceed with about seven months of detailed design, and begin construction in the second half of next year.

Mayor Kang Su-hyun of Yangju said, “With the relocation and construction of the Jangheung-myeon Complex Building, it is expected to resolve inconveniences caused by the aging of the existing Jangheung-myeon office and insufficient parking spaces, and to actively respond to the increasing administrative demands due to projects such as the Yangju Jangheung Apartment Complex Development Project.”
