The Department of Advertising and Public Relations at Dongmyung University held its 17th Academic Festival on the 11th.
The festival, named OAF (Ogilvy Advertising Festival) after the legendary advertiser David Ogilvy (1911-1999), was an event to review the 2024 activities of the department's students and prepare for 2025.
In Part 1, outstanding project presentations were held for the first-year Presentation Practice class (Professor Lee Yong-jae) by Lee Eun-jung and Kim Da-in; the second-year Smart Media Advertising Production class (Professor Han Eun-jung) by Park Yoo-kyung and three others, Kim Jun-young and four others; and the third-year Marketing Communication class by Lee Soo-jung and one other, Kim Bo-min and two others.
In Part 2, the graduation project presentation showcased six planning proposals and advertising videos planned and produced by fourth-year students.
The Grand Prize was awarded to students Park Chae-yeon, Won Seong-hwan, Jeon Jong-won, Ha Seok-jae, and Lee Hwa-young for their advertising proposal for "Yogi-ottae".
The Gold Prize went to Lee Joo-kwang, Go Ji-soo, Jeon Ji-yeon, Seo Ki-hwan, and Jeong Min-gyo for their "Samsung Pay" advertising proposal. The Silver Prize was awarded to Kang Na-kyung, Nam Gyun-ho, Seon Yoo-shin, and Lee Seon-jae for their "Kakao Taxi" advertising proposal. The Bronze Prize was given to Kim Ga-young, Go Mi-joo, Kim Su-bin, and Kim Ye-jin for their "Jung Kwan Jang" advertising proposal; Baek Ho-hyun, Lee Jeong-hyun, Jo Hyun-joon, and Lee Seo-young for their "Baedal Minjok" advertising proposal; and Yoo Hyun-bi, Jeong Eun-seo, Park Seung-hee, and Song Ga-eun for their "Speak" advertising proposal.
The students' works will be made available on the department's official website and YouTube channel.
On this day, merit awards were also presented to students who contributed to the development of the department. The Student Merit Award (Department Head Award) was given to Hwang Hee-young (3rd year), the president of the academic society, and Kim Chae-eun (3rd year), the vice president. Certificates of commendation were also awarded to outstanding club activity members Kim Bo-min and Kim Min-ji (Advertising Planning Club Beyond), Lee Soo-jung and Kim Jun-young (Video Production Club Tak), and No Hong-bi and Son Ah-yeon (Reading Club Seosamdok).
In 2024, students of this department achieved awards in events such as the "Cannes Dream Lions," "Korea University Student Advertising Competition," "Saekdareum Instagram Content Contest," "2024 Local Creator Training Video Media Camp," and "Global Startup Nomad Camp in TAIWAN," as well as external scholarship selections including the "Korea Scholarship Foundation Humanities 100-Year Scholarship."
