"Constitution Guarantees Freedom of Assembly and Association"
"Civil Servants and Office Workers Are All Sovereign Citizens"
The private public interest organization Workplace Bullying 119 stated that restricting participation in candlelight rallies calling for the impeachment of President Yoon Suk-yeol at workplaces is an “act that infringes upon constitutionally guaranteed fundamental rights.”

On the 12th, Workplace Bullying 119 said, “Our constitution guarantees the freedom of assembly and association,” and “expressing opinions on the Yoon Suk-yeol presidential insurrection incident or attending related candlelight rallies cannot be seen as acts that clearly reveal political bias or partisanship, nor can they be considered against the public interest.”
They added, “Prohibiting or obstructing all workers, including public officials, from participating in impeachment candlelight rallies is clearly an infringement of constitutionally guaranteed fundamental rights,” and “penalizing or criticizing individuals for attending rallies or expressing opinions on the Yoon insurrection incident may constitute workplace harassment.”
Workplace Bullying 119 plans to operate a ‘Workplace Candlelight Rally Participation Obstruction Reporting Center’ starting today. Yoon Ji-young, the representative of Workplace Bullying 119, said, “In a reality where workplace democracy has not been established, employers or supervisors tend to control not only employees’ opinions but also their actions,” adding, “Employees are citizens and sovereigns of a democratic country before they are workers.”
