Ulsan Office of Education Selected as Family-Friendly Organization for the 4th Consecutive Time

Certification for 11 Years from 2016 to 2027

Creating a Happy Workplace with Various Family-Friendly Policies

The Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Cheon Chang-su) was recently reselected as a ‘2024 Family-Friendly Certified Institution’ by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family.

Since first receiving certification in 2016 as the first education office to do so, it has continuously made efforts by operating various family-friendly programs. With this re-certification, the certification will be maintained until November 30, 2027.

The Family-Friendly Certification is a system that certifies companies or institutions supporting workers’ work-life balance. It is selected through comprehensive evaluation of top management leadership, implementation of family-friendly systems, employee satisfaction, and goes through document and on-site inspections as well as certification committee review.

The Ulsan Office of Education supports work-life balance by operating workplace daycare centers and providing family vacation facilities.

Every Wednesday and Friday are designated as ‘Family Love Days’ to encourage all employees to leave work on time, and various family-friendly systems such as flexible working hours, encouragement of parental leave and maternity leave use, and support for long-term service leave are in place.

Superintendent Cheon Chang-su said, “This is the result of our efforts to ensure that education office employees can enjoy a happier work life,” and added, “We will continue to promote various family-friendly policies to create a vibrant and highly satisfying workplace culture.”

The Ulsan Office of Education plans to become a warm public institution that grows together with the local community based on family-friendly management.
