High Evaluation for Institution Head's Training Participation and Role, and Establishment of an Organic Disaster Response System Among Related Agencies
Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) was selected as an excellent autonomous district in the evaluation of the '2024 Disaster Response Safe Korea Training,' achieving recognition as an outstanding autonomous district for two consecutive years following last year.
The 'Disaster Response Safe Korea Training' is a national comprehensive exercise hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, conducted annually to strengthen disaster response capabilities of local governments and related organizations and to establish a systematic disaster management system.
In October, the district conducted a drill simulating a fire at a multi-use facility caused by an electric vehicle fire. The training involved over 300 participants from nine related organizations, including Jungnang-gu Office, Jungnang Fire Station, Jungnang Police Station, Seoul Medical Center, Army Unit 3298, as well as civilian groups such as the Jungnang-gu Autonomous Disaster Prevention Corps, Safety Security Officers, and Volunteer Firefighters, to check the public-private joint response system.
In particular, the district carried out realistic drills using the disaster safety communication network (PS-LTE) to quickly disseminate information and establish a close joint response system among related organizations. During this process, Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi, the head of the Jungnang-gu Disaster Safety Countermeasures Headquarters, received high praise for his proactive situation management skills and the establishment of an organic cooperation system among disaster response agencies.
Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi of Jungnang-gu said, “Above all, the most important thing is to protect the safe daily lives of our residents,” adding, “We will do our best so that all residents feel pride in a ‘Safe Jungnang’ and can enjoy a happy and safe life.”
