Kim Young-rok, Governor of Jeollanam-do, attended the opening ceremony of the Jisan-myeon Senior Welfare Center in Jindo on the 11th, inspected the facility status, and listened to the concerns of the elderly.
The opening ceremony was attended by Kim Hee-su, Mayor of Jindo County, Lee Ki-am, President of the Jindo County Senior Citizens Association, and about 100 residents. The newly completed Jisan-myeon Senior Welfare Center was newly built with 500 million KRW of special adjustment grants from Jeollanam-do, invested by Governor Kim.
Governor Kim Young-rok said, “We are promoting various support measures to alleviate the economic burden of the elderly during the winter and to ensure a warmer and more thorough winter season.” He added, “In these times when the economy and people’s livelihoods are more difficult, we will eliminate welfare blind spots and pay closer attention to the difficulties on the ground so that all residents can enjoy a warm life.”
