Providing Outreach Counseling for Early Detection and Prevention of Mental Health Issues
The Guri City Mental Health Welfare Center (Director Yoon Jin-woong) announced on the 11th that it has successfully operated the ‘Visiting Mind Relief Bus’ since January this year to promote the mental health of Guri citizens and to facilitate early detection and prevention of mental health issues.
The city operated the ‘Mind Relief Bus’ at 10 locations including the Guri Traditional Market, where mental health services are needed in the community. Using the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) and the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) for depression screening, various one-on-one psychological support services were provided. Individuals identified as high-risk received tailored counseling, treatment cost linkage, and service provision for follow-up management, resulting in high satisfaction among citizens.
Yoon Jin-woong, Director of the Guri City Mental Health Welfare Center, stated, “Increasing accessibility to the service will provide a good opportunity to address mental health issues, and we will conduct active follow-up management for those identified as high-risk.”
Meanwhile, the Guri City Mental Health Welfare Center offers counseling and tailored services for children and adolescents, individuals with mental illnesses, and those at high risk of suicide. For more details, inquiries can be made at the Guri City Mental Health Welfare Center (3rd floor of Guri City Health Center) or through their website.
