BPA Begins Design for Maintenance of Busan Port Facilities in 2025

Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Kang Jun-seok) has commenced a design service for the '2025 Busan Port Facility Maintenance Project.'

BPA conducts annual maintenance projects such as facility safety inspections and repair works to remove hazardous and dangerous elements within Busan Port and provide safe working conditions for port workers.

In 2025, BPA plans to spend approximately 12 billion KRW to maintain a total of 68 facilities out of 429 port facilities managed by BPA in Busan Port, including 32 wharves and 36 buildings.

To enhance user satisfaction of port facilities, BPA collected complaints regarding the use of port facilities from operators, the Port Workers' Union, and the Facility Management Center throughout May, and held three working-level meetings in June to gather opinions on the maintenance project. The design service is scheduled to be completed by May 2025, with maintenance work to be finished in the second half of the year.

Lee Sang-kwon, Head of Construction Headquarters at BPA, stated, “We will make every effort to ensure a solid maintenance project by actively incorporating field opinions to prevent any inconvenience to Busan Port users.”
