According to Hanam City, Hanam Urban Corporation posted the "Camp Colbern Complex Self-Sufficient District (tentative name) Urban Development Project Private Participant Recruitment Announcement" on the 11th, and will accept applications for private participant designation and project plans until March 24 next year.
The Camp Colbern urban development project is an urban development initiative to create a convergence complex on the Camp Colbern site to strengthen Hanam City's self-sufficient functions, including future-oriented advanced industries.
Hanam City, where the Camp Colbern site is located, is evaluated as a transportation hub with five railway lines (Lines 3, 5, 9, Wirye-Sinsa Line, GTX-D and F) and five highway networks (including the Metropolitan Area 1st Ring Expressway, Jungbu Expressway, etc.) connected or under construction.
Additionally, the Camp Colbern site is adjacent to Gyosan New Town, a 3rd phase new town, allowing it to enjoy excellent residential conditions such as commercial support facilities. Moreover, as it is national land owned by the Ministry of National Defense, there is no need to worry about compensation, enabling rapid project promotion, which is considered an advantage.
Regarding the main recruitment contents, private participants must present a self-sufficient facility plan capable of attracting excellent companies such as business and industrial facilities for Hanam City's industrial development and job creation. Self-sufficient facilities refer to facilities for job creation and urban economic revitalization, and except for simple data centers and logistics warehouses, there are no other restrictions.
The recruitment will proceed for about 100 days after the announcement is posted, and Hanam City and Hanam Urban Corporation will hold a project briefing session on the 19th. Private participants interested in the project can submit a letter of intent to participate from the 20th to the 24th of this month.
Following this, the schedule includes ▲Inquiry reception (December 30, 2024 ? January 2, 2025) ▲Document review (January 6?9, 2025) ▲Inquiry response (January 10, 2025) ▲Submission of private participant designation application and project plan (March 24, 2025) ▲Selection of the preferred negotiation candidate (separately notified).
Mayor Lee Hyun-jae emphasized, “This project is a core pledge of the 8th elected administration that will create food sources for the next 100 years, providing an opportunity to maximize Hanam City's development potential as it approaches a population of 500,000.” He added, “We ask for active participation and interest in the project recruitment so that Camp Colbern can be developed into an industrial and business-centered complex self-sufficient district.”
Detailed information about the recruitment can be found on the city hall website’s public announcement board. For other inquiries regarding the recruitment, please contact the Project Planning Division 1 of Hanam Urban Corporation.
