Hyundai Motor Company announced on the 10th (local time) that Randy Parker, head of the U.S. subsidiary, has been appointed as the head of the North America Regional Headquarters. His term will begin on January 1 of next year. Jose Munoz, Hyundai Motor's Global Chief Operating Officer (COO) and the current head of the North America Regional Headquarters, was promoted and transferred to the position of CEO at the headquarters.
Newly appointed head Parker will oversee Hyundai Motor and Genesis operations in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. He will also manage the vehicle assembly plants located in Alabama and Georgia in the U.S. Previously, he was only responsible for the U.S. sales subsidiary. Parker will concurrently serve as CEO of the U.S. subsidiary (HMA). COO Munoz said, "He has driven sales growth and efficiently served stakeholders."
Head Parker joined Hyundai Motor in 2019 as Vice President of Sales. He was promoted to Senior Vice President in 2021 and became CEO the following year. His contribution was significant in achieving record-breaking sales for three consecutive years. Before joining Hyundai Motor, he worked for over 30 years in the automotive industry at Nissan, Infiniti, and General Motors (GM).
Head Parker said, "North America is the most important market for Hyundai Motor. We have a vision to provide excellent products, enhance customer experience, and flexibly respond to changing consumer demands and markets."
