Gwangju City Buk-gu is reviewing the outcomes of the ‘Small Business Artterior Support Project’ aimed at strengthening the competitiveness of small business owners and exploring ways to further develop the initiative.
The district announced on the 11th that it will hold the ‘Small Business Artterior Support Project Performance Report Meeting’ on the 16th.
Since 2022, the district has been implementing the Small Business Artterior (a combination of Art + Interior) Support Project, a collaboration between local artists and small business owners to artistically enhance business signs, interiors, menus, and more. This year, five local artists improved the environments of 14 businesses in everyday sectors such as hair salons, restaurants, photo studios, cafes, and flower shops, with up to 1.6 million KRW allocated per business.
The district organized this performance report meeting to share this year’s achievements and to seek future development plans together with project stakeholders. The meeting will be attended by about 20 people, including Mayor Moon, artists, and small business owners, and will include reports on project progress and outcomes, participant testimonials, and commemorative photos.
Mayor Moon said, “I hope the newly renovated small businesses will see real increases in sales and strengthened competitiveness,” adding, “We will continue to do our best to resolve difficulties experienced by small business owners on the ground and to prepare the necessary support measures.”
