Emart announced on the 11th that it will conduct pre-orders for 2025 Lunar New Year gift sets from the 13th of this month until January 15th next year.

During this period, customers who purchase gift sets using event cards will receive discounts of up to 50% depending on the product, and Shinsegae gift certificates worth up to 1.2 million KRW will be given based on the purchase amount.

The Shinsegae gift certificate benefits increase the earlier the purchase is made during the pre-order period. In the first phase (December 13th to January 8th), 12% of the payment amount will be given as gift certificates, ranging from a minimum of 36,000 KRW to a maximum of 1.2 million KRW depending on the payment amount. In the second phase (January 9th to January 15th next year), 8% of the payment amount will be given as gift certificates, ranging from a minimum of 24,000 KRW to a maximum of 800,000 KRW. These benefits apply to purchases of at least 300,000 KRW.

For the upcoming Lunar New Year, the gift certificate event has been strengthened to provide benefits to more customers. Previously, the higher the purchase amount, the more gift certificates were given, but this time, if purchased early, customers can receive gift certificates at the same rate regardless of the purchase amount.

Emart has focused on "practicality" in planning the sets, reflecting the ongoing high inflation trend. For fruit sets, the prices of major items have been lowered compared to last year, expanding options to purchase for under 50,000 KRW.

In particular, the price of apple gift sets has been set about 10% lower than last Lunar New Year. The company explained that the quantity prepared was increased by about 15-20% due to better medium and large-sized fruit harvests suitable for the holiday compared to last year. The representative apple sets, which are cheaper than last year, are sold at a 30% discount: Apple VIP (3.6 kg, 11-13 pieces) for 45,430 KRW and famous region apples (3.9 kg, 11 pieces) for 49,800 KRW at a 40% discount.

The Shine Muscat, which had increased production this year, is about 30% cheaper compared to last Lunar New Year. The Signature Shine Muscat 4-pack (3 kg) and Shine Muscat 3-pack (2.5 kg) are offered at a 30% discount for 45,500 KRW and 35,980 KRW respectively.

In the livestock gift sets, the "extremely cost-effective Hanwoo set" priced under 100,000 KRW stands out. Representative products include the Peacock Hanwoo meat set (Hanwoo 2.1 kg, 2 packs of seasoning) and Peacock Hanwoo bulgogi set (Hanwoo 1.4 kg, 2 packs of seasoning), sold at a 20% discount for 86,400 KRW and 60,800 KRW respectively. High-quality Hanwoo graded 1 or higher is pre-stocked at Emart's own meat processing center, the "Meat Center," and the discount rate has been increased by 10% compared to last Lunar New Year. To provide greater benefits to customers who want to purchase in bulk, both sets also offer a 10+1 promotion.

Additionally, the "Hanwoo 1++ Special Home Party Set (300g each of chuck flap, skirt meat, and upjin)" priced in the low 100,000 KRW range is introduced for the first time this Lunar New Year. Catering to customer trends who want to taste premium cuts in small quantities, it is sold at a 20% discount for 126,400 KRW.

In seafood, new sets priced under 100,000 KRW have been planned for economical purchases. Representative examples include the Special Jeju Silver Hairtail Set (0.9 kg) and the Special Jeju Hairtail & Mackerel Set (approximately 1.44 kg), both offered at a 10% discount for 97,200 KRW. Both sets also have a 3+1 promotion to provide greater benefits for bulk purchases.

For fresh seafood and livestock gift sets, where freshness is important, the number of direct-from-origin sets has been increased to a total of 27 types, and the quantity prepared has been expanded by 50% compared to last Lunar New Year. Representative products include the premium Wando live abalone set (1.5 kg, 12 pieces) at a 10% discount for 97,200 KRW, and the premium Seogwipo Fisheries Cooperative Okdom set (1.8 kg, 3 pieces), which is directly auctioned, processed, and delivered by Seogwipo Fisheries Cooperative, sold for 148,000 KRW.

Processed food and daily necessities gift sets have expanded practical sets priced in the 10,000 to 20,000 KRW range. During this year's Lunar New Year pre-order period, the 20,000 KRW seasoning sets increased by 46.7% and canned food sets by 11.9% compared to last year. Considering the high volume of gift purchases, additional promotion options such as 2+1 and 10+1 are also prepared for each product.

Meanwhile, Traders Wholesale Club will also hold a pre-order promotion from the 13th, offering up to 50% discounts on Lunar New Year gift sets when accumulating Shinsegae points. Emart Everyday will also offer up to 50% discounts on gift sets purchased with event cards during the same period.
