Gwangjin-gu Selected as an Excellent Institution for 'Safe Korea Training'... Three Consecutive Years of Achievement

Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) has been selected as an excellent institution for three consecutive years in the 'Disaster Response Safe Korea Drill' hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

The Disaster Response Safe Korea Drill is a nationwide exercise conducted jointly by the government, local governments, public institutions, and private companies to prepare for large-scale disasters.

In October, the district conducted a drill simulating an electric vehicle fire incident inside the Children's Hall.

About 600 participants from 15 related organizations, including the Gwangjin Fire Station, took part in the drill to check real-time disaster response readiness and conduct initial response training for rapid situation management.

The evaluation focused on three main areas: ▲ drill planning and design ▲ drill execution ▲ drill feedback. Gwangjin-gu showed excellent performance across all 17 detailed indicators, including the interest of the institution's head and the appropriateness of practical on-site training.

In particular, the judges highly praised the district for its prompt response through an organic cooperation system with related organizations in the frequently occurring electric vehicle fire situations.

Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “Gwangjin-gu maintains a flawless disaster response system to quickly respond to emergencies that can occur anytime and anywhere in daily life, preventing them from escalating into large-scale disasters. We will continue to do our best to ensure that all residents can live safely.”
