Gwangjin-gu Public and Private Children's Center Association Donates 22.3 Million Won

On the 9th, at the Gwangjin-gu Office auditorium (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho), a 'Love Coin Collection' event was held with daycare center children to help neighbors in need.

Hosted by the Gwangjin-gu Public Daycare Center Association (President Noh Sung-hee), this event began with the purpose of experiencing the joy of sharing. Throughout the year, childcare teachers and children collectively gathered donations, creating a meaningful learning experience.

This year, 22.3 million KRW was raised. The daycare children saved their pocket money in piggy banks over the year and donated the collected funds. Dressed in Santa outfits, the children placed model coins into a mailbox, expressing their wish to "help neighbors in need." The donated funds were entrusted to the Gwangjin Welfare Foundation and the domestic child support organization Green Umbrella.

Alongside this, a communication session to encourage the efforts of childcare staff was held. Following a musical performance by a children's choir, appreciation plaques were awarded to contributors to childcare development. Directors Oh Ae-young (Guui 1-dong Aiter) and Kim Tae-min (Jayang 4-dong Eunseong), who have served on-site for over 20 years, received the honors. Approximately 400 people participated, offering enthusiastic support.

Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, stated, "We will strive to ensure that the precious and beautiful hearts of the children, who collected with their small hands, are fully conveyed," adding, "I hope this was a rewarding time to reflect on the meaning of sharing, and we will do our best to establish a higher-quality public childcare foundation in the future."
