The Yangju Volunteer Center (Chairman Kang Su-hyun) announced on the 10th that it successfully held the '2024 Yangju Volunteer Day Commemoration Event' at the Gyeonggi Textile Comprehensive Support Center on the 7th.

Designated to promote public participation in volunteer activities and boost the morale of volunteers, Volunteer Day (December 5) was commemorated this year under the theme "Yangju Leaps Forward! Illuminated by the Passion of Service!" with over 650 attendees reflecting on the value of volunteering and sharing a meaningful time together.
The event began with an opening popera performance by Aria singer’s, followed by ▲Part 1: Commemoration Ceremony ▲Part 2: Volunteer Unity Talent Show ▲Part 3: Celebration Performances.
In Part 1, the program included ▲Annual performance report and video screening ▲Commemorative and congratulatory speeches ▲Certification plaques for 5,000-hour Dongjabong volunteers and 3,000-hour outstanding volunteers (6 recipients), ▲Appreciation plaques for spreading the culture of sharing (5 recipients), ▲Central and metropolitan commendations including from the Minister of the Interior and Safety (11 recipients), and ▲Yangju Volunteer Meritorious Service Awards (31 recipients), totaling 53 volunteers honored. A commemorative performance with guests shouting “Your day is the hope of the world” delivered messages of gratitude, followed by a surprise event presenting knee blankets to volunteers who have been delivering great gifts to neighbors.

In Part 2, as it was Volunteer Day, volunteers took center stage in the 'Unity Talent Show TOP 3' contest. Six teams who advanced from the October preliminaries showcased their talents in singing, instrument playing, and folk songs, creating a lively atmosphere. The awards went to ▲Grand Prize: Bbosuki Disco Janggu ▲Excellence Award: Yeoulmok Volunteer Association ▲Merit Award: Neonaduri Guitar Club.
Part 3 featured passionate performances by saxophonist Shin Nara, Park Woo-song and his crew’s b-boying, singer So Kim, and trot singer Chu Hyuk-jin, elevating the mood and honoring the dedication of volunteers who devoted themselves to the local community throughout the year. The event offered a healing space where all attendees united in gratitude.
Additionally, side events such as ▲Photo zone ▲Drip coffee ▲Allowance envelope calligraphy ▲Nostalgic lucky draw ▲Tarot consultation ▲Life four-cut photo booth ▲Snack corner ▲Prize drawing added joyful memories and enriched the event.
Chairman Kang Su-hyun said in his commemorative speech, “I deeply thank the volunteers who have worked in various fields with warm hearts to help neighbors in need this year as well. Marking the 3rd anniversary of the corporation’s launch, thanks to citizen-led volunteering, Yangju City was able to make a greater leap forward as a welfare city of happiness companionship in 2024.” He added, “In 2025, we will continue to pay attention and effort so that volunteers can serve with pride and dignity.”
