In Songdo-dong, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, the Dahamkke Care Center, which will fill the gaps in elementary after-school care for the first time, will be established inside the Songdo Xi The Star apartment complex.
Yeonsu-gu announced on the 10th that it signed a free lease agreement for the Dahamkke Care Center with the Songdo Xi The Star apartment project developer (White Toria) on the 5th. The signing ceremony was attended by Lee Jae-ho, the district mayor, Seo Kyung-yeon, vice president of White Korea, and Kim So-hee, chairperson of the apartment residents' association.
According to the agreement, the district plans to use part of the residents' community facilities within the Songdo Xi The Star apartment, scheduled for completion at the end of this month, as an elementary after-school care center free of charge for about 10 years.

The Dahamkke Care Center will be the first elementary after-school care facility established in Songdo-dong, expected to be a great help to dual-income residents struggling with care gaps.
The district plans to operate the Dahamkke Care Center with a capacity of 35 people in the first half of next year after remodeling the residents' community facilities. Additionally, the district plans to further expand Dahamkke Care Centers in two apartment complexes with more than 500 households each, scheduled for completion next year in Songdo-dong.
Lee Jae-ho, mayor of Yeonsu-gu, said, "We will strive to eliminate care blind spots by expanding care institutions so that children can receive care in a safe and high-quality environment."
