Wanju-gun Selected as an 'Outstanding Local Government' in Housing Welfare Awards

Wanju-gun, Jeonbuk Province, announced on the 10th that it was selected as one of the top 10 excellent local governments in the ‘4th Housing Welfare Awards’ hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, receiving the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Award.

The Housing Welfare Awards are given to basic local governments that have improved the housing conditions of local residents through region-specific demand-tailored housing welfare policies.

The county established a Housing Welfare Ordinance and formulated a comprehensive housing welfare plan to strengthen the housing welfare delivery system. It also implemented housing environment improvement projects through private resource linkage and operated a mobile team to handle living complaints from vulnerable groups, thereby enhancing housing welfare.

In addition, it was highly evaluated for implementing region-specific projects by establishing a cooperative system with responsible officials and supporting diverse and detailed housing services for housing-vulnerable groups.

County Governor Yoo Hee-tae said, “We will continue to promote customized housing welfare policies so that housing-vulnerable groups can live in stable housing environments,” and added, “We will do our best to create an environment where all county residents can live stably.”
