As the corporate value and market interest in the global company Paypal have increased, Danal, which will launch a partnership service next year, is also expected to benefit.
On the 9th, Bank of America (BofA), a comprehensive financial company in the United States, evaluated that Paypal's e-commerce consumer data for this year's holiday season is positive and that the possibility of profit realization next year is high. The stock price of Paypal Holdings Inc has also risen significantly from about $60 at the beginning of this year to $90 currently, and experts have raised the target price from the previous $86 to $103.
Interest in Paypal is extending to its partner companies. Danal signed a strategic partnership agreement with Paypal in June and is expanding its domestic and international payment business. In July, it launched a tuition payment service for foreign students as its first partnership service, and the transaction volume increased by about 2.5 times compared to exclusive operation with WeChat Pay. It is reported that the number of universities adopting the service has greatly increased following news that students from Paypal payment countries can also use it.
The ‘Danal-Paypal Overseas Integrated Payment’ service, which links domestic merchant services with Paypal payments, is also nearing its launch. Danal operates overseas integrated payments using the infrastructure of global payment companies such as Tencent, Boku, Alipay Plus, and Visa Cybersource, and transaction performance has nearly doubled compared to the previous year due to the K-content boom this year.
A Danal official stated, “We can use Paypal’s infrastructure, which is used by 400 million people in over 200 countries worldwide, so inquiries from merchants, especially reverse direct purchase companies, have increased and are leading to partnership discussions. Since tuition payments are limited to domestic use, we expect performance to increase even more once the Danal-Paypal overseas integrated payment service is launched.”
Meanwhile, as global OTT blockbusters such as ‘Squid Game: Season 2’ are scheduled to be released, Danal’s overseas corporate settlement agency service is also expected to be affected. Danal currently handles settlement for simple payment of streaming fees for well-known overseas OTT companies.
