Winter Festival in Yangpyeong, 'Winter in Yangpyeong' Opens

‘2024 Winter in Yangpyeong,’ the representative winter festival of Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province (Governor Jeon Jin-seon), held a spectacular opening ceremony at Mulmalgeun Yangpyeong Gymnasium on the 8th, marking the official start of the event.

The opening event was richly decorated with various experience booths, photo zones, and a children’s musical, capturing the attention of over 1,000 visitors. Various events featuring ‘Yangchun-i,’ the Yangpyeong tourism mascot character, were very popular among children. Additionally, at the Yangpyeong Market Rest Area, ‘National Karaoke,’ hosted by Yangpyeong-gun ambassador Son Heon-su, was held, further elevating the festival atmosphere.

Now in its second year, ‘Winter in Yangpyeong’ is a festival planned under the slogan ‘Tourism Yangpyeong’ to attract visitors during the winter off-season and promote the revitalization of the local economy. This year, the festival operates a ‘Stamp Tour’ where visitors can collect stamps and receive souvenirs at various attractions linked with local resources such as haejangguk (hangover soup), libraries, book cafes, and pet-friendly accommodations during the festival period.

The county expects a positive impact on the local economy as visitors can experience and enjoy the festival throughout Yangpyeong.
