Seosan City Holds the 30th Citizen Award Ceremony

Seosan City in South Chungcheong Province expressed its gratitude to three citizens who have quietly dedicated themselves to the development of the local community in various fields.

On the 9th, Seosan City announced that it held the "30th Seosan Citizen Awards Ceremony" at the Benikea Hotel and presented plaques to the selected recipients: Kim Sunho, Kim Insook, and Yang Heeyoung.

The 30th Seosan Citizen Award honors one recipient in each of five categories: education, culture and sports promotion; social service; business and regional development; filial piety and good deeds; and local pride and community recognition.

About 100 people attended the ceremony, including Seosan Mayor Lee Wanseop, the awardees and their families, and local citizens, to celebrate the three citizens receiving the city's most prestigious award.

Kim Sunho, who serves as an advisory member of the Seosan Sports Council, was selected in the education, culture, and sports promotion category for his contributions to the advancement of sports and the revitalization of community athletics in Seosan.

Kim Insook, president of the Seosan District Council of the Korean Red Cross, was honored in the social service category for her volunteer activities, extending a helping hand wherever needed.

Yang Heeyoung, a professional golfer who has achieved excellent results in various domestic and international tournaments, was selected in the local pride and community recognition category for her victory at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship last June and her role as a national representative at the Paris Olympics.

Mayor Lee Wanseop said, "The hard work and dedication of the awardees have become the driving force behind our community's development," and added, "We will do our utmost to ensure that you can take pride in your contributions to the community as Seosan transforms into a city full of vitality and promise."
