The four Labor Safety Guardians, composed of individuals holding industrial safety-related certifications or with more than three years of practical experience in industrial safety, visit construction sites and other workplaces to inspect the use of personal protective equipment, violations of industrial safety and health standards, and breaches of safety disaster prevention measures. When issues are found, they recommend that business owners voluntarily improve them.
At the closing ceremony, Labor Safety Guardians, officials from the Yeoju Labor Rights Center, and city officials attended. They shared the 2024 Labor Safety Guardians’ operational performance and final report, watched a video summarizing nine months of activities, and reflected on the past safety inspection efforts in a meaningful session.
Since the launch ceremony on March 15, the Yeoju City Labor Safety Guardians have conducted various industrial accident prevention activities such as on-site safety inspections, industrial accident prevention campaigns, and joint inspections for nine months. As of the 8th, they have conducted 1,430 inspections targeting manufacturing and construction sites, issued 2,933 correction requests, and recorded 2,001 completed corrections.
A Yeoju City official said, “We thank the Labor Safety Guardians who have worked hard through regular on-site inspections to establish a safe labor culture in local workplaces,” and added, “We will continue to strive to create an environment where workers can work safely.”
