Providing Local Currency Incentives and Public Delivery App Coupons

Osan City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 10th that it will implement support measures to revitalize the local economy and alleviate the management difficulties of small business owners during the 'Oh! Happy Santa Market' festival, which runs until the 29th.

The city will provide a 5,000 KRW Onnuri gift certificate coupon to customers who submit a receipt showing a purchase of 10,000 KRW or more from the Wondong Shopping District, Areum Daro Shopping District, or Santa Market sellers where the Santa Market is being held.

During the festival period, the incentive for the local currency 'Osaekjeon,' which was previously 7%, will be increased to 10%. An event offering a 10% cashback will also be held when payments are made with Osaekjeon at Osan Station’s old downtown shops and Santa Market sellers.

The city will also increase the coupon amount for the public delivery app 'Baedal Teukgeup.' Until the 20th, users of Baedal Teukgeup will receive a total coupon worth 5,000 KRW, consisting of the basic 3,000 KRW plus an additional 2,000 KRW.

From the 11th to the 15th, the city will hold a 'Lucky Fortune Cookie' event for festival visitors, where prizes such as portable batteries, chocolates, and ramen will be given away through a lottery.

Meanwhile, now in its second year, the Santa Market is Osan City’s representative winter festival, which opened on the 23rd of last month. Inspired by European-style Christmas markets, this festival is being held at Osan Station Plaza, Areum Daro (formerly Culture Street), and the Wondong Shopping District.

Lee Kwon-jae, Mayor of Osan City, said, "As consumer sentiment has weakened due to difficult domestic and international conditions, small business owners are facing a serious crisis. We have planned various events during the Santa Market period to help small business owners regain their vitality. I hope this event will contribute to the revitalization of small business owners and the local economy."
