New Routes 362 and 960 Established, 12 Routes Adjusted

Gumi City in Gyeongbuk will start operating city bus routes passing through Sagok Station on the 14th, coinciding with the opening of the Daegyeong Line (Daegu Metropolitan Railroad).

This is the first step in restructuring the public transportation system by linking city buses and metropolitan railroads, and it is expected to greatly enhance the convenience of transportation for citizens.

With this restructuring, two new routes connecting Sagok Station and major areas will be established. Route 362 connects Sagok Station with the Park Chung-hee Presidential Birthplace and Saemaeul Theme Park, while Route 960 links Sagok Station with Kumoh National Institute of Technology, Sandong Expansion Complex, and Kyungwoon University. Both routes will operate a total of 24 times per day, significantly improving public transportation accessibility not only around Sagok Station but also in the Sandong and Yangpo areas.

Additionally, 12 existing routes will be adjusted to pass through Sagok Station, making it more convenient to use public transportation and metropolitan railroads centered around Sagok Station throughout Gumi.

At Sagok Station, three bus stops and bus information displays will be installed to enhance passenger convenience. To ensure smooth operation of the new routes, trial runs will be conducted, and information on metropolitan transfer usage will be promoted to citizens.

To prepare for the increased traffic volume following the opening of the Daegyeong Line, enforcement against illegal parking around Sagok Station will be strengthened. Starting December 12, the city will install fixed CCTV cameras within a 200-meter radius of Sagok Station (towards Sangsa-seo-ro and Sangsa-seo-ro 22-gil), and continuous enforcement will be conducted using mobile CCTV cameras.

In addition, to reduce parking inconvenience for users, a total of 181 parking spaces are being added at three public parking lots besides the Sagok Station parking lot.

Mayor Kim Jang-ho said, “We promptly implemented city bus operations passing through Sagok Station in line with the opening of the Daegyeong Line. We will continue to improve public transportation services so that citizens can enjoy a more convenient transportation environment.” He added, “We expect more tourists to visit Gumi with the opening of the Daegyeong Line. We will create a safe and pleasant urban environment to contribute to the revitalization of the tourism industry.”
