Jung-gu Recruits 2,156 Participants for Senior Job Program

Jung-gu, Seoul (Mayor Kim Gil-seong) is recruiting 2,156 participants for the 2025 Senior Job Project until the 20th of this month.


The district has developed 59 projects to provide customized jobs for local seniors. In particular, new jobs reflecting regional characteristics and the demands of the new senior generation have been created, such as Seoul Station assistants due to the opening of the Metropolitan Area Express Train (GTX), support for multicultural family education, and flower shop operations.

Jobs are categorized into Senior Public Service Projects (1,723 people), Senior Capacity Utilization Projects (350 people), and Community Project Groups (83 people), allowing participants to choose according to their abilities and preferences.


The Senior Public Service Project offers jobs where seniors can serve the community and contribute to the public good, including neighborhood environment improvement, traffic guidance, and meal delivery to vulnerable groups. Working hours are 30 hours per month, with an activity allowance of 290,000 KRW. Participants must be recipients of the basic pension aged 65 or older.


The Senior Capacity Utilization Project provides jobs that utilize expertise and experience, such as smart farm management, subway elevator inspection, and public administration support. Based on 60 working hours per month, an activity allowance of up to 760,000 KRW is provided, and any senior aged 60 or older can participate.


The Community Project Group focuses on operating small stores and businesses. This includes operating GS25 convenience stores and toy sterilization businesses, with activity allowances paid according to conditions specified in the employment contract. Anyone aged 60 or older can apply.


Job applications can be submitted by visiting the local community service center in the applicant’s residential area, senior clubs, Yaksu Senior Welfare Center, Yurak Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, and other project execution institutions. Applications can also be easily submitted online through BokjiNet.


Participants are selected based on selection criteria such as income level, activity capability, and experience, with those scoring higher selected first. If there are dropouts, remaining applicants with higher scores will be given sequential opportunities to participate. Final selections will be individually notified on January 15 of next year.
