The Guro Creative Culture and Arts Center, scheduled for official opening in the first half of next year, is a four-story building above ground with one basement level, consisting of △ Disaster Safety Experience Center △ Guro Learning Support Center Building 2 (Creative Convergence Education Hall) △ Performance Hall, and will be utilized as an educational and cultural hub space to nurture talents who will lead the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution.
The Guro Learning Support Center Building 2, which will start pilot operation this time, will have on the 2nd floor program rooms for parent lectures and after-school classes, a college counseling room, and a multipurpose room (drone hall). On the 3rd floor, the Creative Convergence Education Hall will be composed of a Creative Research Room (Creative Lab), Drawing Research Room (Drawing Lab), Robot Research Room (Robot Lab), and Convergence Research Room (Convergence Lab).
The district plans to provide learning programs related to new technologies of the 4th Industrial Revolution such as unmanned aerial vehicles (drones), virtual reality (VR), Internet of Things (IoT), autonomous driving, robots, webtoons, and video production, and operate school support programs linked with the Career and Job Experience Center.
Through this, it is expected to provide more diverse educational opportunities not only to students from vulnerable groups but also to those who had difficulty using the existing Learning Support Center Building 1 (Guro-dong) due to distance.
On the first day of pilot operation, the 16th and 17th, 190 first-year students from Gyeongin Middle School will be divided into four classes to participate in four programs: virtual reality (VR), autonomous driving robot ‘Altino’, ping-pong robot, and unmanned aerial vehicle (drone).
From the 18th to the 20th, when individual applications begin, a total of 12 programs will be operated, including drone soccer, virtual reality (VR), artificial intelligence drawing (AI-Drawing), autonomous driving robot experience, companion robot performance, and hologram experience. In the morning (10 a.m. to 12 p.m.), applications can be made by school units, and in the afternoon (2 p.m. to 7 p.m.), individual use is available on a first-come, first-served basis without a separate reservation.
From the 22nd to the 25th, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., a ‘GraviTrax’ exhibition and experience booth (12 booths), which has recently emerged as a new creative teaching tool in schools and educational sites, will be operated in the multipurpose room on the 2nd floor. The ‘GraviTrax’ experience will be conducted on-site on a first-come, first-served basis.

A Guro-gu official said, “We hope that the Guro Creative Culture and Arts Center will establish itself as a new educational hub space for nurturing future talents of the 4th Industrial Revolution and as a cultural and artistic space for local residents,” and added, “We ask for your great interest and participation.”
