Remote Control and Voice Recognition for Enhanced Convenience

Artificial intelligence (AI) integration is spreading in household appliances such as fans and water purifiers. This is to provide consumers with differentiated experiences by emphasizing 'convenience' and 'efficiency.'

On the 10th, Shinil Electronics announced the launch of the ‘Air Circulator S10 Cube’ and ‘Premium Wireless BLDC Fan’ equipped with AI voice recognition features this year. The biggest advantage of these products is that they can be easily operated by voice without a remote control. Various voice commands such as ‘Turn on the fan,’ ‘Make the wind stronger,’ and ‘Find the remote’ allow operation without any additional manipulation.

Shinil Electronics also released the robot vacuum cleaner ‘RoboWedi,’ which applies AI autonomous driving technology and mapping sensors. It is characterized by its ability to recognize various objects in the house and set efficient cleaning routes. Through a dedicated application, users can monitor and control the cleaning status anytime and anywhere.

A Shinil Electronics representative explained, "We plan to expand AI functions to winter home appliances in the future," adding, "In particular, we plan to develop more advanced voice recognition technology that allows consumers to input commands directly, further enhancing the convenience of smart appliances."

Chungho Nice launched the healthcare product ‘AI Motion Pillow’ in March this year. The AI Motion Pillow is equipped with AI that analyzes, learns, and responds to snoring waves and patterns. When snoring is detected, airbags inflate to help alleviate snoring. This product was developed by TenMinds, a healthcare device specialist company, and according to user surveys, it was confirmed that snoring time decreased by 51% among people in their teens and twenties.

SK Magic is also developing products integrated with AI. To accelerate research and development (R&D) of new products applying AI, the company established an AI Growth Office through a departmental reorganization earlier this year and is intensifying related research. The new product categories will include core products such as water purifiers and air purifiers equipped with AI technology, as well as pet care, silver care, and healthcare segments.

As AI, which was previously applied mainly to large home appliances by companies like Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics, spreads to small household appliances, industry competition is expected to accelerate. An industry insider said, "AI started with large appliances like refrigerators and washing machines and is gradually being embedded in small household appliances such as fans and water purifiers, and there are still many areas where AI can be applied," adding, "AI appliances outperform existing products in various aspects such as consumer convenience and energy savings."
