Chatbot AI is gradually expanding in administration as well.
Starting with AI robot conversations for elderly people living alone to provide care services, it is being utilized in various fields such as education and care for people with developmental disabilities, oral examinations, and real estate information provision.
Songpa-gu utilizes AI care robot ‘Kati’ for education and care of people with developmental disabilities… Supports in-home care ▲Daily conversation ▲Singing ▲Greeting to train social interaction
Songpa-gu (Mayor Seo Gang-seok) is expanding support for in-home care using AI robots for people with developmental disabilities, providing customized welfare services.
The district planned a care robot incorporating AI to address difficulties in education and care for people with developmental disabilities, and since March this year, it has been assisting education for people with developmental disabilities at the Lifelong Education Center using the AI robot ‘Kati’.
The AI robot using ‘Kati’ is designed to play various educational support roles through ▲basic daily conversation ▲singing functions, and focuses on enhancing communication skills through features such as ▲greeting responses.
Since October, AI robots have been provided to the homes of people with developmental disabilities attending the Lifelong Education Center. Through this, specialized education and care services for people with developmental disabilities are being offered even at home.
In particular, the robot’s content and functions were recently upgraded. By actively reflecting feedback from teachers and people with disabilities, the system now considers the actual response time of people with developmental disabilities during education and adds technology to better recognize pronunciation, enabling repetitive learning of social interactions.
This reduces the burden on parents of people with disabilities and greatly helps education by guiding people with developmental disabilities to understand others’ emotions and respond appropriately to situations.
Parents of people with developmental disabilities using the AI robot expressed high satisfaction, saying, “My child finds ‘Kati’ incredibly cute. They keep it by their side all day and live together,” and “I feel that my child is happy to have someone to talk to at home.”
Additionally, the district plans to analyze the performance of the care AI robot and improve service quality by incorporating various feedback. It also intends to continuously update the robot’s functions and expand the education and care system for people with developmental disabilities.
Seo Gang-seok, Mayor of Songpa-gu, said, “We hope that the customized AI care robot will reduce the burden on caregivers in daily life and ultimately help improve the quality of life for people with developmental disabilities and their families,” adding, “We will continue to pay close attention and do our best to improve the quality of life for socially vulnerable groups left in welfare blind spots.”
Nowon-gu, first local government to offer AI oral examination service
Free oral examinations for Nowon-gu residents aged 55 and over to enable early disease detection and reduce economic burden
Nowon-gu (Mayor Oh Seung-rok) announced that it is implementing a ‘smart oral examination service’ using an ‘AI solution for the first time among local governments’ to improve oral health equity.
The smart oral examination is a project that systematically diagnoses oral health by using an AI solution after taking dental panoramic X-rays.
After taking X-rays, data is uploaded to a dedicated cloud, where AI analyzes ▲cavities ▲periapical periodontitis ▲amount of alveolar bone resorption, and provides screening results. Based on this, a public health center dentist confirms the presence of diseases through visual inspection and provides an oral examination report.
In particular, if suspicious areas of serious disease are found in the X-rays, with the patient’s consent, remote reading can be requested from the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology at Seoul National University Dental Hospital, enabling precise examination and early diagnosis.
The district plans to use this project to understand the condition of alveolar bone, detect oral diseases early, encourage residents to voluntarily receive dental treatment, and alleviate economic difficulties by reducing the initial treatment cost burden.
During the pilot operation period, the smart oral examination project was mainly conducted for vulnerable groups, but it has now expanded its target to Nowon-gu residents aged 55 and over to increase the number of beneficiaries. The service is completely free and can be used by visiting or making a phone reservation.
Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, said, “Oral diseases are related to systemic diseases such as cardiovascular disease, pneumonia, diabetes, and dementia, so regular management is important,” adding, “We will continue efforts to lower residents’ psychological barriers to oral examinations and improve accessibility.”
Jung-gu to conduct satisfaction survey for real estate information AI chatbot ‘Bueungi’ from December 2 to 13
Jung-gu, Seoul (Mayor Kim Gil-seong) will conduct a satisfaction survey for the AI chatbot system KakaoTalk channel ‘Bueungi’ from December 2 to 13.
‘Bueungi’ is a budget-free AI chatbot system developed by Jung-gu that provides residents with real estate information necessary for daily life 24 hours a day, anytime and anywhere.
This satisfaction survey is conducted to collect residents’ opinions and improve ‘Bueungi’ into a more convenient and useful channel.
The survey consists of a total of nine questions including ▲‘Bueungi’ usage route ▲service satisfaction ▲improvement points, aiming to reflect residents’ demands and enhance the quality of the system and content.
Participation in the survey is simple. Search for ‘Seoul Jung-gu Real Estate Information Division’ or ‘Bueungi’ on KakaoTalk, add the channel, then press the ‘Satisfaction Survey’ button at the bottom of the chat window and respond to the survey. An event will also be held where 100 respondents will be selected by lottery to receive coffee coupons.
Kim Gil-seong, Mayor of Jung-gu, said, “We will develop ‘Bueungi’ into a more beneficial and convenient channel by reflecting the valuable opinions of residents,” adding, “We will continue to do our best to resolve residents’ real estate inquiries and provide practical help to protect their property safely.”
Dongdaemun-gu to hold AI competition for employees on the 11th
Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) will hold the finals of the AI competition for employees, ‘Challenge with ChatGPT,’ on the 11th.
A total of 30 employees participated in the AI competition held by the district since the end of October, submitting creative projects. Among them, 10 advanced to the finals, where they had opportunities to deeply understand AI technology and learn how to apply it to work through specialized AI training and online/offline mentoring.
In the finals, participants will present their ideas, and outstanding projects are expected to be actually introduced into Dongdaemun-gu administration. Based on this achievement, the district is also considering participating in a nationwide digital government competition in the future.
The finalist projects aim for practical administrative innovation and consist of original and effective ideas integrating AI into administrative tasks.
In particular, the ‘Eogong (Accidental Public Official) Helper Platform,’ which helps new public officials efficiently learn laws and tasks, received favorable evaluations. The chatbot automating complex administrative tasks showed potential to reduce employees’ workload and improve administrative efficiency.
Also, a system where AI assists decision-making during interdepartmental task coordination attracted great expectations for creativity and scalability.
The participating employees responded enthusiastically. One employee said, “I didn’t expect AI to bring such a big change to administrative work,” adding, “I felt proud knowing it can provide practical help to residents in the future.”
Lee Pil-hyung, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, said, “This challenge shows employees’ sincerity in providing better services to residents through AI,” adding, “We will become the leading autonomous district in digital administration that best utilizes generative AI in Seoul.”
As chatbot AI spreads throughout society, cases of its use in administration are expected to gradually increase.
