Rep. Chu's Treason Accusation Also Under Review
The Democratic Party of Korea is pushing for the expulsion of Choo Kyung-ho, the floor leader of the People Power Party, who is suspected of obstructing the resolution to lift the emergency martial law in the National Assembly.

On the 9th, the Democratic Party announced through a press release that it had submitted a resolution urging the expulsion of Floor Leader Choo to the National Assembly.
According to a Yonhap News report, a Democratic Party official stated, "Floor Leader Choo is not just an accomplice but the main culprit, playing a decisive role by preventing party members from entering the National Assembly, enabling the martial law to achieve practical results."
Earlier, the Democratic Party considered filing charges of treason against Floor Leader Choo, taking into account circumstances such as his incitement of confusion among ruling party members to obstruct the resolution to lift martial law and his request to the Speaker of the National Assembly for more time, which delayed the vote.
Choo’s side has refuted the Democratic Party’s claims by releasing a timeline of events.
On the 7th, after the impeachment motion vote failed in the National Assembly, Floor Leader Choo announced his intention to resign from his position as floor leader midway.
