Preparing for Future Education: Teacher Training and Distribution of Smart Devices for Students
The Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Cheon Chang-su) will hold an 'Artificial Intelligence Digital Textbook Exhibition and Fair' for elementary and secondary school teachers and parents at the Ulsan Student Education and Culture Center on the 13th and 14th.
This event was organized to provide an opportunity to directly experience the functions and learning effects of 76 types of artificial intelligence digital textbooks that completed textbook approval this year, aiming to resolve the curiosity of the educational community.
The exhibition and fair will feature 27 AI digital textbook exhibition halls and 17 lectures.
The Ulsan Office of Education is making various efforts in line with the era of digital transformation. Representative efforts include operating digital leading schools, supporting teachers in using educational information technology (Edutech) tools, expanding digital infrastructure for elementary, middle, and high school students, developing and distributing guidelines for using smart devices, and establishing measures to prevent digital dysfunction.
In preparation for the introduction of AI digital textbooks next year, the Ulsan Office of Education has been conducting innovative teaching training for 3,567 teachers on the use of AI digital textbooks from September to this month.
Teachers are enhancing their understanding of AI digital textbooks by directly experiencing various functions using prototypes, designing lesson plans that can be applied in actual classes.
The Ulsan Office of Education has built a platform to minimize participation burdens by allowing teachers to join the training on their preferred dates.
Efforts to establish a digital foundation have also been made by distributing an additional 19,664 smart devices for students this year, creating a one-to-one smart device environment from third grade elementary to third grade high school. A center has been established to provide an integrated support system, enabling professional personnel to immediately assist through a call center when wireless network issues occur at schools.
Chae Chang-young, Director of Future Education, said, “We will actively support the digital transformation of classrooms and schools in the era of digital transformation so that all students can develop future competencies in a stable digital learning environment.”
