Samjin Fish Cake (CEO Park Yong-jun) has newly opened the ‘Incheon Airport T2 Store’ inside Terminal 2 of Incheon International Airport.
Incheon International Airport, where Samjin Fish Cake has established a presence, recently expanded Terminal 2 through a four-phase construction project, becoming the world’s first terminal capable of accommodating 50 million passengers and entering the status of a ‘global mega-hub airport’ that can handle over 100 million passengers annually.
This ranks it as the third largest airport in the world, following Hong Kong International Airport and Dubai International Airport, the two largest airports globally.
With the expected increase in passengers using Incheon International Airport worldwide, Samjin Fish Cake plans to take a step further as a global fish cake brand by offering premium ‘K-Fish Cake’ taste experiences to people around the world through the opening of the ‘Incheon Airport T2 Store.’
The ‘Samjin Fish Cake Incheon Airport T2 Store’ is located airside within Terminal 2, the area where passengers spend the most time, making it highly accessible. In particular, a ‘smart showcase’ has been installed to allow travelers to enjoy fish cakes as a simple yet hearty snack during long journeys, enhancing both the taste and quality preservation of the fish cakes.
Samjin Fish Cake’s ‘smart showcase’ uses ‘halogen lighting’ to maintain fish cakes at a consistent temperature.
Additionally, the showcase equipped with a ‘steaming’ function periodically sprays high-temperature sterilized steam from the bottom of the case to prevent moisture evaporation inside the fish cakes, helping them retain a soft and moist texture for a long time.
There is also a signature product exclusive to the ‘Incheon Airport T2 Store’ called the ‘Mongle Bar.’ The ‘Mongle Bar’ is a thick bar-shaped fish cake made with premium pollock surimi as a base, combined with fresh seafood such as mantis shrimp and rock octopus, as well as cheese and corn?ingredients that pair best with fish cakes. It is steamed once more with high-temperature steam, resulting in a soft and fluffy texture that is very appealing.
The new product ‘Mongle Bar’ comes in five flavors: ‘Mantis Shrimp Mongle Bar,’ ‘Rock Octopus Mongle Bar,’ ‘Cheese Cheese Mongle Bar,’ ‘Ham Corn Mongle Bar,’ and ‘Shiitake Mushroom Mongle Bar.’ The ‘Mantis Shrimp Mongle Bar’ contains three types of shrimp, creating a diverse texture with the chewy fish cake and the springy shrimp. The ‘Rock Octopus Mongle Bar’ includes fresh octopus meat, offering a chewier and richer umami flavor than squid. The ‘Cheese Cheese Mongle Bar’ contains whole string cheese, providing a savory yet mild cheese flavor. The ‘Ham Corn Mongle Bar’ combines sweet popping corn with salty ham, making it a popular hot bar flavor for all ages. The ‘Shiitake Mushroom Mongle Bar’ incorporates shiitake and wood ear mushrooms, filling the mouth with the mushrooms’ distinctive fragrant aroma.
At the ‘Incheon Airport T2 Store,’ three special set packages are also available: the ‘Samjin Fish Cake Set,’ the ‘Airport Set,’ and the ‘Incheon Set.’
The ‘Samjin Fish Cake Set’ is generously packed with popular Samjin Fish Cake products such as ‘1953 Boneless Bar’ and ‘Hearty Fish Cake Soup’ in a cooler bag featuring the illustrated character of the signature menu ‘Fish Cake Croquette,’ making it convenient to carry and an excellent travel souvenir. The ‘Airport Set’ and ‘Incheon Set’ include consistently loved Samjin Fish Cake hot deli fish cakes like ‘Spicy Fried Fish Cake’ and ‘Whole Shrimp Roll,’ as well as chewy steamed fish cakes, offering a variety of tastes and shapes to enjoy.
