KB Insurance announced on the 9th that it conducted a volunteer activity to create 'Cold Wave Relief Kits' to deliver warmth to vulnerable groups during the year-end and New Year season.
A total of 35 KB Insurance employees and their families participated in the volunteer activity on the 7th at the Paju Disaster Relief Logistics Center located in Paju-si, Gyeonggi Province, making cold wave relief kits for elderly residents in vulnerable gosiwon communities who are susceptible to cold waves.

The participants personally packed cold wave relief kits consisting of winter blankets, thermal underwear, sleeping socks, earmuffs, instant ready-to-eat food, and draft stoppers from early morning, preparing winter survival kits filled with warm hearts. These prepared relief kits will be delivered to elderly vulnerable groups in the gosiwon communities of Yeongdeungpo-dong and Changsin-dong in Seoul through the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association.
According to the 2023 age-specific cold-related illness statistics from the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, 64.1% of reported cold-related illness patients were elderly aged 65 and over. It was found that winter cold waves have particularly fatal effects on the elderly. An employee who participated in the volunteer activity said, “Our whole family participated in this volunteer activity with the hope that the elderly struggling with the winter cold wave would have a warm winter through the relief kits made that day,” adding, “It was a meaningful time to spend the year-end more significantly with my children.”
KB Insurance continues to carry out various social contribution activities for vulnerable groups. Representative initiatives include the ‘KB Insurance Green ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) Disaster Safety Campaign’ to raise safety awareness among vulnerable children, ‘Creating Safe Stores’ supporting safety inspections for small business owners’ shops, and the ‘Hope Sharing Kimchi Making Support’ project for marginalized groups, all aimed at supporting vulnerable groups and fostering coexistence with local communities.
