Global Girl Group Bichu Member K.G.
"I Was Abused" Claims, Leaves Team and Announces Withdrawal
JYP "Will Take All Measures to Prevent Harm"
JYP Entertainment has expressed its position regarding the lawsuit filed by KG, a member of the global girl group VCHA.
On the 9th, JYP USA stated, "In May, KG left the group dormitory and requested discussions through legal representatives. Accordingly, we temporarily suspended VCHA's future activity plans and have been engaged in discussions seeking various solutions with KG's representatives. However, recently, there has been no response from KG's side regarding the discussion matters, and our representatives were also waiting for a reply."
They continued, "In this situation, we deeply regret that KG unilaterally announced false and exaggerated claims externally and chose to take legal action. This has caused significant damage to the other members of VCHA, who have been diligently preparing for the album release and various plans in the first half of 2025, as well as to our company. We plan to take all necessary measures to prevent further harm to the other VCHA members and our company due to this matter."
VCHA, which debuted in January, is a Korea-US joint girl group formed through the global project 'A2K' conducted by JYP and Republic Records, a label under Universal Music Group.
KG, an American member of VCHA, suddenly announced her departure from the team on her social media on the 8th. KG stated on her SNS on the 8th, "After experiencing abuse and unfair treatment from certain staff members, I have decided to terminate my contract with JYP Entertainment and leave VCHA, and I filed a lawsuit yesterday."
She also claimed, "I do not support a working and living environment that drove a member to attempt an extreme choice. I also do not support an environment that causes eating disorders and self-harm among members. I decided to leave the team in May and am currently waiting for the contract to be terminated."
Official Statement from JYP USA
We would like to share our position regarding the lawsuit filed by Kiera Grace Madder (hereafter KG) and her statements made through social media.
In May, KG left the group dormitory and requested discussions through legal representatives. Accordingly, we temporarily suspended VCHA's future activity plans and have been engaged in discussions seeking various solutions with KG's representatives. However, recently, there has been no response from KG's side regarding the discussion matters, and our representatives were also waiting for a reply.
In this situation, we deeply regret that KG unilaterally announced false and exaggerated claims externally and chose to take legal action. This has caused significant damage to the other members of VCHA, who have been diligently preparing for the album release and various plans in the first half of 2025, as well as to our company.
We would like to inform you that we plan to take all necessary measures to prevent further harm to the other VCHA members and our company due to this matter.
