Gangbuk-gu Provides 300 Carbon Electric Mats to Elderly Living Alone

This support will be provided from the 9th of this month to households with basic livelihood security recipients, near-poverty class, and low-income elderly living alone in Gangbuk-gu whose income is below 120% of the median income, with a total of about 300 elderly people receiving carbon electric mats.

The recipients of the heating supplies were selected based on lists identified by each neighborhood community center, prioritizing elderly people living alone who are more vulnerable to the cold wave.

The heating supplies will be distributed after individual contact through the neighborhood community centers, and the distribution process has been simplified so that the elderly can use the supplies conveniently and quickly. For detailed inquiries about Gangbuk-gu’s heating supply support, please contact the Disaster Management Division of the district office or the nearest neighborhood community center.

Mayor Lee Soon-hee stated, “We have prepared this support so that elderly people struggling due to the cold wave can have a warm winter,” and added, “We will continue to make efforts to provide meticulous support to improve the welfare of vulnerable groups.”
