On Facebook, "How Can a Coup Be Tolerated?"
Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon criticized on the 7th that "the People Power Party betrayed the people" in relation to the failure of the impeachment motion against President Yoon Seok-yeol due to the party's absence from the vote, resulting in a lack of quorum.
On the afternoon of the same day, Governor Kim posted on his social media, "How can a coup be tolerated? Isn't this a declaration of returning to a coup party?"
He stated, "Early resignation or orderly resignation is nothing but deceiving the people. The most orderly resignation is immediate resignation, immediate impeachment," emphasizing, "In the end, the people will win. I will stand with the people until the end."

At the rally in front of the National Assembly that day, Governor Kim urged the People Power Party lawmakers to participate in the impeachment vote against Yoon Seok-yeol, saying, "I hope you participate in the impeachment vote in the National Assembly plenary session immediately. Otherwise, you will become collaborators of the coup forces," after they collectively left the plenary hall without voting.
He also said, "As a member of the people and as a politician, I came to join the ranks of citizens calling for Yoon Seok-yeol's impeachment and to raise my voice together," adding, "Going forward, within the scope that does not interfere with my duties as governor, I will continue to raise my voice for Yoon Seok-yeol's early impeachment alongside our patriotic citizens."
Earlier, immediately after President Yoon Seok-yeol's public apology, Governor Kim dismissed it, saying, "Only resignation remains, not an apology." Regarding the People Power Party's decision on the 5th to oppose the impeachment motion as the party's official stance, he stated, "The people and history will watch closely and clearly whether you become collaborators of a coup or protectors of the democratic constitution."
On the 4th, through a Facebook post, he claimed, "President Yoon's '2-hour coup' has driven the country to the brink. Who will take responsibility for the economy plunged into the abyss, the society thrown into chaos, and the democracy that has collapsed?" and asserted, "Now, President Yoon is not a 'subject of impeachment' but a 'subject of arrest.'"
