Sharing Ideas on Educational Activities Through Communication Between Audience and Actors
'Together in Theater' Held on the 9th at Bukbu Cheongsa and on the 10th at Nambu Cheongsa
A Play Addressing Conflict Resolution and Mediation Among School Members Based on Teachers' Real Experiences
The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education (Superintendent Lim Tae-hee) announced on the 8th that it will hold Season 7 of the On-Site Empathy Program for the Protection of Educational Activities, the participatory play "Appbaraji," on the 9th and 10th at the Southern and Northern Government Buildings, respectively.
The participatory play "Appbaraji" presents episodes that occur in schools from the perspectives of the three main educational stakeholders, encouraging reflection and jointly considering proper ways to resolve conflicts while delivering a message of hope. The Gyeonggi Theater Education Research Association participated in the production of the play.
Notably, a reconciliation mediation expert joins during the performance to address complex conflicts educationally and peacefully, bringing the audience closer to the resolution process.
"Appbaraji" carries the opposite meaning of "Dwitbaraji," which depicts parents raising children driven by their own desires rather than the child's talents and individuality.
In conflict situations among students, teachers, and parents occurring in school settings, this site-tailored play explores conflicts arising from "Appbaraji" rather than "Dwitbaraji" and seeks multifaceted solutions.
During the play, the audience proposes opinions on problematic situations, altering the dramatic scenarios, and through interactive communication between the audience and actors, they share concerns about conflicts during educational activities and collaboratively find solutions.
Through this, the program aims to improve awareness of protecting educational activities, build empathy, and provide opportunities for communication between parents and teachers.
Lee Ji-myeong, Director of the Life Character Education Division at the Provincial Office of Education, stated, "Through this participatory play, we can form a consensus on protecting educational activities and realize the importance of the Reconciliation Mediation Team in finding solutions to conflicts on-site," adding, "We will strive to restore school educational capacity by protecting teachers' educational activities and students' right to learn."
Meanwhile, the Provincial Office of Education is preparing on-site empathy programs to protect educational activities, and this season will be presented through a theatrical work.
