The Ministry of National Defense announced on the 7th that it has dispatched personnel to the Prosecutor's Special Investigation Headquarters for the investigation of the emergency martial law incident.
On the same day, the Ministry of National Defense told the press corps, "To conduct a joint investigation with the prosecution regarding the emergency martial law incident, we have dispatched a total of 12 personnel, including 5 military prosecutors, to the Special Investigation Headquarters today." The Supreme Prosecutors' Office had announced the day before that it would form a Special Investigation Headquarters headed by Park Se-hyun, Chief Prosecutor of the Seoul High Prosecutors' Office.
Since multiple generals, including former Minister of National Defense Kim Yong-hyun, are involved, the military prosecution also joined the Special Investigation Headquarters. Earlier, Kim Seon-ho, Deputy Minister of National Defense acting as Minister, said the day before, "Regarding the recent emergency martial law incident, the Ministry of National Defense will actively cooperate with the prosecution's investigation."
