KCTU "Cannot Entrust Governance Even for a Day"
KFTU "Blaming Others Again in Statement"

The Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) said in a statement that day, "He must be judged by law for treason, and the National Assembly must hold him politically accountable through immediate impeachment," adding, "The public cannot entrust Yoon Seok-yeol with state affairs even for a single day."

The Federation of Korean Trade Unions (FKTU) said, "Impeach Yoon Seok-yeol. Arrest Yoon Seok-yeol." The FKTU criticized, "President Yoon once again blamed others in his address. Although he said he would not avoid legal and political responsibility, it is not that he will not avoid it, but that he will be unable to do so," adding, "There is no stance on the resignation that the people actually want. He said he would leave political stability measures, including his term, to the party, but that is a directive to prevent impeachment."

People’s Solidarity for Participatory Democracy stated, "Yoon Seok-yeol violated the constitutional order with a sudden unconstitutional and illegal martial law, paralyzed state affairs, and shamelessly continued to remain silent, claiming he did nothing wrong. Then, pretending to apologize just to avoid impeachment," emphasizing, "We cannot tolerate traitor Yoon Seok-yeol’s presidency for even one more day. The National Assembly must immediately suspend Yoon Seok-yeol’s duties by passing the impeachment motion and hold him accountable for treason according to the Constitution and laws."

The Citizens’ Coalition for Economic Justice (CCEJ) said, "Leaving political stability measures, including the president’s term, to the People Power Party and stating that the party and government will take responsibility for state affairs is a deceptive attitude to the public, aimed at preventing impeachment at all costs and not giving up power," adding, "The People Power Party must actively participate in the impeachment vote, clearly take responsibility for the martial law incident, and show an attitude of reflection before the people. This incident is not a problem of a specific party but a task for all citizens to protect democracy in the Republic of Korea."

Earlier, President Yoon apologized for the martial law incident in his national address that day and stated, "I will leave the future political stability measures, including my term, to our party."
