SNS Money-Demanding Account Scammer's Fake Work
Report to Police if Contacted by Impersonators
Aeyonga LPGA Tour 2-Time Winner
Charlie Hull (England), a popular player on the U.S. Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour, has issued a warning about fake accounts.
On the 5th (local time), she posted on social media (SNS), "I never ask for money or gift cards in exchange for joining fan clubs or meeting me," adding, "Accounts making such requests are fake created by scammers." She also wrote, "My team and I always use only official social media accounts (X and Instagram). I do not use TikTok. There are too many fake accounts impersonating me," and "If you receive contact from such accounts, please report them. Let's work together to defeat the scammers."
Hull has over 700,000 followers on SNS. She is popular for her bold and candid remarks. She has sparked controversy by smoking during matches on the course, even holding a cigarette while signing autographs for fans. Recently, she made a somewhat radical claim that slow play should be strictly penalized and that players caught three times should be stripped of their tour cards.
Hull attracted attention by responding to a male amateur golfer who claimed he could beat LPGA Tour players, saying, "Let's have a match. You play from the red tees (for amateur women), and I'll play from the white tees (for amateur men)." Hull is ranked 11th in the world and has won twice on the LPGA Tour.
