Development of Life SOC-Based Facilities Such as Sports Facilities, Libraries, and Idolbom Centers

At the event, Mayor Lee Dong-hwan of Goyang Special City and local residents attended to celebrate the beginning of the Complex Cultural Center.
The newly constructed Wonheung Complex Cultural Center is designed as a facility with 2 basement floors and 4 above-ground floors, creating a living SOC (Social Overhead Capital) infrastructure for local residents, equipped with sports facilities, a library, and a childcare center.
On the 1st and 2nd floors of the gymnasium building, a swimming pool and GX room (fitness center) will be installed for residents to engage in physical activities, which is expected to greatly improve the previously insufficient conditions for citizens' recreational sports.
In particular, since existing swimming pool facilities were concentrated in specific areas causing inconvenience and difficulties, the convenience of using facilities in this area is expected to be significantly enhanced.
The 3rd and 4th floors of the gymnasium building will house a multipurpose gymnasium, which will meet the previously unmet demand for indoor sports and contribute to improving the quality of life for citizens.
The library building, spanning the 1st to 4th floors, will include facilities for local residents' information use, reading activities, cultural activities, and lifelong learning, expected to serve as a focal point for enhancing the region's learning capacity and forming and building a learning network for the entire community.
Mayor Lee Dong-hwan of Goyang Special City stated, “Since the Wonheung Complex Cultural Center will be established as a living SOC infrastructure facility much needed in Goyang Special City, expectations are high,” and added, “We will make every effort to ensure the construction proceeds smoothly so that it becomes a space loved by citizens.”
