Gyeonggi Yangju City (Mayor Kang Su-hyun) announced on the 6th that it will conduct a safety inspection of campsites in preparation for winter, when the risk of accidents such as fires and suffocation is high, from the 10th to the 11th.
The safety inspection targets 13 public and private campsites, focusing on facilities such as caravans and glamping sites.
Yangju City has formed a public-private joint inspection team with private experts and the Yangju Fire Station to focus on fire prevention and disaster response measures.
The main inspection items include △ response systems for natural disasters such as heavy snow and cold waves △ compliance with safety standards for fire prevention, electricity, and gas △ campsite safety and hygiene management △ presence of illegal filming devices in public facilities such as restrooms and showers △ listening to difficulties and suggestions.
Any violations found during the inspection will be immediately corrected, and facilities requiring improvement will be promptly repaired and supplemented to eliminate risk factors in advance.
A Yangju City official stated, “Since fires at winter campsites can lead to major accidents, thorough safety management by campsite operators is necessary. We will create a camping environment where users can feel safe through continuous safety inspections.”
