Icheon History and Citizen Archives Construction Feasibility Study Report Meeting Held

On the 5th, Icheon City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 6th that it held the 'Final Report Meeting for the Icheon History Citizen Archive Construction Research Project' in the city hall's medium conference room.

The Icheon History Citizen Archive is a facility that the city is promoting to build within Buak Park located in Changjeon-dong to address the lack of space for record culture promotion and record preservation.

The archive is planned to be constructed as a complex cultural space providing services centered on the city's administrative history and citizens' life records, including ▲exhibitions ▲reading ▲citizen self-archiving ▲record-themed books ▲record education ▲support for record community activities.

At the report meeting, attended by Icheon Mayor Kim Kyung-hee, Icheon City Council Chairman Park Myung-seo, related departments, and the research company, the company Jari Co., Ltd., which was in charge of the research project, reported on the progress of the research over the past four months.

The city is also promoting the revision of the 'Icheon City Public Records Management Ordinance' to establish the 'Icheon Municipal Archive' that will be responsible for the efficient construction and operation of the history archive.

Mayor Kim Kyung-hee of Icheon said, "We will strive to realize differentiated record welfare unique to Icheon City through the construction of the Icheon History Citizen Archive."
